Armenian Association of Radiologists

On June 29th professors of the European School of Radiology visited Armenia in the framework of ESOR Visiting Professorship Programme, ESR Support Initiative, and presented lectures and workshops on abdominal oncologic imaging.

President of the Armenian Association of Radiologists MD, Ph.D Kostan Galumyan welcomed the honorary professors and participants from Armenia and abroad. Dr Galumyan expressed his gratitude and introduced the programme and the lecturers.
 
Presentations were conducted by Prof. Valérie Vilgrain, Chair of the Department of Radiology at the University Beaujon Hospital and Professor of Radiology at the Université Paris Diderot, Sorbonne Paris Cité, France, Prof. Charikleia Triantopoulou, Head of the Radiology department at “Konstantopouleion” general Hospital, Athens, Greece and Prof. Evis Sala, MD, PhD, an academic radiologist with a special interest in Cancer Imaging, Professor of Oncological Imaging at the University of Cambridge, UK.
 

At the invitation of the Armenian Association of Radiologists, Professor Nicholas Gourtsoyiannis, the founder of the European School of Radiology, first President of the ESR, was present at the conference.

Participants had the honor of listening to Prof. Gourtsoyiannis’s lecture on the next day at the Armenian Congress of Radiology, where Prof. Triantopoulou, Prof Sala and Prof. Stoupis- Head of Radiology Dept., at Hospital Lake of Zurich, Maennedorf, Switzerland, also conducted presentations.

The key topic of the lectures was abdominal oncologic imaging. The professors presented lectures and interactive workshops, which emerged great interest and inspiration among the participants.

 
The simultaneous interpretation was professionally conducted by neurologists Dr. Samson Khachatryan and Dr. Hasmik Amirjanyan.
